EMDR Therapy

EMDR is a specialized, evidence-based therapy designed to help people heal from trauma, distressing experiences, and painful memories. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping) to help the brain process and release the emotional impact of past experiences.

Sometimes clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, unsure, and stuck. They often feel they should already have things figured out, or worry that they’re too much—or not enough—for therapy to be effective. This uncertainty can leave them feeling disconnected from themselves and hesitant to begin the healing process.

I approach each client with openness, compassion, and a deep respect for their unique story. Drawing from a holistic, integrative, and person-centred framework, I tailor the therapeutic process to honour the whole person—their emotional, physical, and relational needs. This means we move at a pace that feels right for them, and we co-create a space where all parts of their experience are welcome.

By fostering a safe, grounded, and supportive therapeutic relationship, clients begin to reconnect with themselves, trust the process, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. They discover that they don’t need to be “ten steps ahead”—they just need to begin where they are, and together, we’ll find the way forward.

At times in life, we feel overwhelmed and stuck in old patterns of acting, feeling, and thinking that are no longer serving us. We might feel lost while being challenged by life stressors, difficult emotions and relationships, and lack clarity about a path forward.

I use a compassionate, relational, and non-judgemental approach to understand clients’ unique story and needs. I believe that clients are the expert of their lives and collaboratively we define goals and suitable strategies for therapy.

Within the safe and relational space we create in the therapeutic process, clients can enhance self-awareness, self-compassion, clarity, and motivation to take active steps towards the life they want to live.

ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm. They often feel an urgency to “fix” themselves quickly, but end up frustrated when lasting change feels out of reach.

In our work together, I help clients slow down that impulse and create space to truly understand and accept what they’re experiencing. Using a compassionate, mindful, and individualized approach, I guide them in building awareness, resilience, and new ways of relating to their challenges. I also bring my authentic self into the room, fostering a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can be open, vulnerable, and genuine without fear of being judged or analyzed.

Over time, clients find themselves feeling more grounded, capable, and at peace. They develop healthier ways of managing anxiety and emotions, gain confidence in navigating life’s challenges, and begin living with greater joy, balance, and authenticity.
